VISAKHAPATNAM: RINL-VSP, in an effort to generate more renewable energy sources, has begun installing solar panels on the roofs of large buildings that can capture abundant sunlight.
The solar power plant on the roof of the administration building was inaugurated on Tuesday by Kishore Chandra Das, Director (Personnel), and KK Ghosh, Director (Projects).
The solar systems on the roof of the city administration building and the Visakha Steel General Hospital (VSGH) were also inaugurated. This completes the installation of solar power plants with a total output of 500 KW on roofs. RINL already operates a 5 MW solar power plant.
The projects are designed, delivered and commissioned by M / s Cleanmax Enviro Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd., Mumbai, under a 25-year power purchase agreement with RINL for the installation of 500 KW solar projects on the roof.
On this occasion, the Director (Personnel) Das said that RINL plans to introduce more solar power plants on the roof under Corporate Social Responsibility or Corporate Environment Responsibility in the school buildings in township and also in the areas where the unusable land can be used for such Projects. R Srinivasa Rao, responsible CGM (projects), Ajith Kumar, CGM (D&E) and senior executives from the project and HR department were also present.
