New Delhi: Central Electronics Ltd (CEL), a Public Enterprise (PSU) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, has published a Letter of Interest (EoI) for the selection of companies to build 200 megawatt solar power plants across India.
The company plans to set up ground-mounted solar power generation systems (SPGS) with an output between 2 MW and 10 MW for a total capacity of 200 MW in the country. It has invited an expression of interest (EoI) for the involvement of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors to carry out the work.
“Central Electronics Limited is keen to promote, expand and implement the timely execution of its solar photovoltaic (SPV) systems business by engaging experienced EPC contractors through this EOI,” the company said.
It has asked interested parties to submit EoI by September 14th at the latest. At a later point in time, empaneled contractors who are eligible to participate can be considered for participation in subsequent tenders or tenders for this purpose.
CEL is part of the Scientific and Industrial Research Division of the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is a major player in the solar energy and solar photovoltaic industries. It has the honor of developing India's first solar PV cell in 1977 and the first solar PV module in 1978.
The power supply has solar cell and solar module production capabilities, apart from system design, engineering manufacturing and support capabilities. CEL is also a regular exporter of solar products to European, African and Asian countries.
