Gemma Energy Methods Secures EPC Contract for Pennsylvania Solar Undertaking

| |

According to Argan Inc., wholly owned subsidiary Gemma Power Systems recently signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with CPV Maple Hill Solar LLC to build the Maple Hill Solar facility.

“CPV is a valued customer and we appreciate the opportunity to continue our relationship by providing a turnkey alternative energy solution,” said Colin Trebilcock, President of Gemma Power Systems. “This large utility-scale power generation facility will be built on 480 acres and will provide Gemma with yet another opportunity to leverage the skills and experience of the Pennsylvania craftsmen who have successfully supported Gemma on previous projects.”

The Maple Hill Solar project will be built with over 235,000 photovoltaic modules to generate approximately 100 MW of electrical power. The Maple Hill facility is located in Cambria County on a previously cleared wood lot and will displace older, less efficient generation. When completed, it will be one of the largest solar-powered power plants in Pennsylvania. The project will employ 250-400 workers at peak times and bring significant local tax benefits to the region.

Gemma has also received notification to continue with the project activities immediately. The project is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2022.
