Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives Inc. (IEA), a renewable energy infrastructure construction company with specialty civil engineering expertise, says the solar project development and development group of Merit SI LLC, an expert in sustainable energy infrastructure, has joined the IEA.

With the addition of Merit SI staff, the company can enhance its benefits for commercial, industrial and utility customers.

“The solar capabilities of the Merit SI team combined with the broad reach of IEA are a winning combination,” said Joe Broom, senior vice president of solar construction at IEA. “We also see future opportunities to work with Merit Controls, an emerging company in grid integration services and utility-scale power plant control applications.”

By integrating 10 Merit SI employees, the IEA can now internally access development support, pre-bid optimization, system performance and integration functions for solar PV / battery storage. These skills come at an ideal time after the recent two year investment tax credit extension in December 2020 and will be vital as the IEA continues to grow and develop its already strong solar platform.

The addition of these employees opens up a multitude of potential proprietary solar developments for IEA Constructors and White Construction, as well as the opportunity to address merit controls on future projects.
