Now, you'll hear on our comments, blog, and website that we're talking about one term we use is MLPE. Let me solve some of the mystery of this for you.
MLPE stands for Module Level Power Electronics, and that means that under every solar panel, or we call it a module, there is power electronics that are either a microinverter for a DC optimizer.
The reason we say today that MLPE is the right solution for every home is because of our ethos of safe solar energy. We want to install systems that are safe for your home and with products with either microinverters or DC optimizers we eliminate the risk of high voltage direct current.
With micro-inverters, all of the direct current remains with the panels on the roof. With optimizers, the voltage drops to very, very safe values when the system is shut down.
