On small islands or in developing and rural areas with limited or no access to the grid, off-grid solar power has become an increasingly popular energy solution. However, there are many technical challenges that are holding back the market. With the aim of providing clear and convenient access to green energy, Growatt – the world's leading provider of inverters for private households – is launching its second-generation, off-grid inverter SPF 3000T HVM-G2.

“Our R&D team has incorporated advanced technology into this new generation product, making it one of the most powerful stand-alone inverters on the market,” said Lisa Zhang, Marketing Director of Growatt. “Combined with Growatt's wide range of lithium batteries and monitoring solutions, the SPF 3000T HVM-G2 inverter gives customers access to smart, reliable and sustainable clean energy.”

The inverter SPF 3000T HVM-G2 is the all-in-one device for off-grid power supply systems. It consists of a built-in MPPT charge controller, an AC charger and an inverter with a low frequency transformer that enables surge power of three times the rated power to support motor loads or inductive loads. Thanks to optimized product design and improvements in software and hardware, the inverter has a longer service life and comes with a five-year product guarantee as standard. The inverter SPF 3000T HVM-G2 from Growatt also enables power consumption from several sources such as generator, solar, storage battery and grid. The owner can use electricity from the grid and the PV system together to supply household loads.

The inverter can operate with or without batteries and is compatible with popular lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, including Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries from Growatt, which are known for their safety and reliability. In addition, it is equipped with a low-voltage disconnection protection function for batteries. When the battery voltage drops, non-critical loads are first disconnected from the system in order to extend the autonomy time for critical loads.

Compared to other off-grid inverters on the market, the SPF 3000T HVM-G2 inverter has market leading efficiency of up to 95% and much lower energy loss with only 9W power consumption in sleep mode, which is 70% less than other brands' products. The inverter also has the bypass function which allows the user to bypass the normal operation of the inverter and draw power from the grid. With a high solar input voltage of up to 250 V, it makes installation much easier and also reduces BoS costs. The inverter can be connected in parallel for up to six units for single-phase or three-phase systems to expand the output to 18kW.

With over a decade of experience in research and development, the Growatt team is able to master technical challenges in off-grid solar applications and to meet the needs of global customers. “Because clean and sustainable solar energy is much cheaper than fossil fuels, we believe that solar power and energy storage will enable millions of households to achieve their energy independence and we are very proud to be the technology leader in accelerating the transition,” said Zhang.
