Sunnova expands its Solar + Storage providing to 9 new states

Sunnova Energy Int. Inc., a US solar and storage service provider for private households, has expanded its leasing service offering for Tesla and Generac storage systems to nine new markets.

The company says homeowners in Illinois, Maryland, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Florida, New York, and Rhode Island now have the flexibility to choose between our new leases or existing loan offers when they sign up for a solar and storage system to power your home. In addition, 22 new states now have access to Enphase batteries through the company's loan program.

“We are here to ensure that our customers have access to energy services and financing options that make the most sense for their particular situation and that ultimately help them achieve energy independence,” said Michael Grasso, Chief Marketing and Growth Officer at Sunnova. “We also want to enable local Sunnova dealers to help families find the best energy options for their individual needs. These extensions help us to achieve this goal. “

As families continue to spend more time at home and power outages increase during the hurricane and forest fire seasons, the demand for reliable and resilient energy will continue to grow. In 2020, Sunnova's dealers installed three times as many battery systems as in 2019 and more than twice as many as in the first quarter of this year compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

This lease extension offers customers:

  • Balanced billing, customers pay a flat, predictable monthly rate based on device costs
  • Competitive prices without having to apply for federal and state incentives and discounts
  • Sunnova insurance cover at no additional cost
  • 25-year energy guarantee from Sunnova Protect, with the option of balanced billing

Batteries are essential to store the excess energy generated by a solar system and provide that stored energy during a power outage. Intelligent software automatically manages the battery system if the central network fails and seamlessly supplies the most important devices in the customer's house with a reliable emergency power supply.

Retrofitting the Enphase battery enables customers with an existing solar system at home to easily add energy storage. The retrofitting takes the form of a new loan offer with 25-year coverage with Sunnova Protect – including monitoring of system production, repairs and replacements.
