CISOLAR 2021: investments in solar tasks might exceed 80 billion US {dollars} worldwide in 2021 – pv journal Germany

This strategic program aims in particular to reduce the electricity costs of solar power plants by 60% over the next 10 years. Overall, the United States plans to spend more than $ 2 trillion over the next decade to develop infrastructure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

It should be noted that more than 100 billion US dollars are being invested in the construction of energy storage systems. In particular, more than 20 new plants with a total capacity of 1.7 GW will be commissioned in California in 2021.

According to Vitaliy Daviy, CEO of IB Center, such an unprecedented investment in green projects in the United States will be a powerful catalyst for renewable energy development in other regions of the world.

“Everything that happens to the United States economy is projected onto almost every economy in the world. The United States is a world leader in the financial sector, so the allocation of capital by the US government and corporations determines investment policy for the European and Asian markets. Joe Biden declared the next decade to be a time of rapid development of a low carbon economy, including the development of solar energy. This means that other countries, including Ukraine, expect the same trends, even if the government does not see renewable energy as a strategic priority today. The situation will change drastically in no time, ”said Vitaliy Daviy.

An additional stimulus for the development of the global solar energy market will be a new project investment mechanism that came into force in the European Union at the end of February this year. The new rules will allow EU member states to meet their solar energy targets by investing in projects in other EU countries.

According to the official IRENA data published at the beginning of April, the total capacity of solar power plants worldwide rose by 21.6% in 2020, i.e. to 714 GW. In particular, all European countries (including non-EU countries) increased the capacity of solar power plants by 14.5% (to 163.5 GW) in 2020. The information on total capacity (7.33 GW) shows that Ukraine ranks 6th in Europe and only followed by industry leaders such as Germany (53.8 GW), Italy (21.6 GW), Spain (14 GW), France (11.7 GW) and the Netherlands (10.2 GW). According to the growth rate of the solar energy sector in 2020, Ukraine ranks 4th with a rate of + 23.5%. As for the American solar energy market, the total US solar power plant capacity in 2020 was 75.6 GW, beating the 2019 indicator by 24.5%.

Total investments in solar energy projects worldwide could exceed $ 80 billion in 2021, according to the IB Center. Vigorous growth of home solar stations and commercial self-consumption facilities will be the main trend in Ukraine in 2021.

By the end of 2021, the total capacity of solar power plants in Ukraine could reach 6-7% or 450-520 MW.

The IB Center will give a detailed outlook on the development of the solar energy sector in the region of Central and Eastern Europe at CISOLAR 2021 on August 10th in Kiev. This year CISOLAR presents new features in online and offline format (2021.cis-solar.com).

In particular, on July 6th, the 10th International Conference on Solar Energy of Central and Eastern Europe in two formats – online and offline – will take place in Kiev at the Hilton Hotel (30 T. Shevchenko Blvd.). The focus is on new business models that meet the challenges facing companies in the years 2020-2021, as well as decentralized generation, energy storage technologies and waste management in solar energy. The latest world trends, technological solutions and services will be presented during the exhibition. The online conference CISOLAR 2021, moderated by outstanding speakers, will continue on July 7th and 8th. The speakers at CISOLAR 2021 this year include more than 100 international experts and more than 1,000 online and offline participants.

The best industrial projects are determined at the CISOLAR AWARDS 2021 – Best Solar Energy Projects of Central and Eastern Europe. The companies compete for the title of the best project in 5 nominations: Best Household Solar Energy System, Best Medium-Sized Solar Energy Project, Best Large-Scale Solar Project, Best Local Solar Energy Product, and Outstanding Personality in the Solar Energy Field.

In addition, the ACCO International Exhibition Center (40-B Peremohy Ave.) will host the offline CISOLAR 2021 exhibition from July 7th to 8th, where companies will see the latest renewable energy technology advances, equipment, services, and business models cooperation with potential distributors and partners as well as special offers for private customers.

From July 6th to 8th, there will also be a digital exhibition, which has developed into a fundamentally new and most effective tool for conducting business events when communicating with the target audience without geographical restrictions. Anyone can visit the virtual booths of the companies, browse the presented products and offers in a real-time environment, contact their representatives immediately via audio or video conferences and attend online events of the companies.

With the first implemented energy storage projects in the CEE countries and the enormous potential for such projects, it became clear that the energy storage industry in CEE needed its own solid business platform in order to expand further growth. IBES is the leading conference and trade fair for energy storage in Central and Eastern Europe. IBES 2021 will take place from July 6th to 8th together with CISOLAR 2021 in order to offer participants, visitors and speakers more opportunities at the interface of these industries on the digital platform: ibenergystorage.com
